Tattoo removal with this latest 3rd generation Pico laser technology is achieved through a process called photomechanical destruction. The ultra-short pulses of the Pico laser are delivered into the skin, targeting the ink particles in the tattoo.
These pulses generate a photomechanical effect, causing the ink particles to fragment into smaller, more easily eliminated particles.
Over time, the body’s lymphatic system flushes away the fragmented ink particles, gradually fading the tattoo from the skin. 3 to 6 sessions are typically required to achieve significant fading or complete removal, depending on factors such as the size, color, and depth of the tattoo.
3rd generation Pico laser tattoo removal is considered safe and effective, with minimal risk of scarring or damage to the surrounding skin compared to CO2 or first and second generation pico lasers that rely on photothermal destruction and may cause excess heat and blistering of the skin.
